Welcome to BIF online community newtwork. This network operate as the avenue for Baelelean and friends of Baelelea-Solomon Islands could share and contribute towards common development issues and aspirations of Baelelea region and people as part of a nationwide community of Solomon Islands.
Its our "voice" and our "meeting place' to come together, to share, to contribute, and work together towards a common purpose- the improvement of the lives of our people and place.
It is also a place to rediscover and reclaim our common identity as Baelelea people. Our common identity constitute two distinct marks: "Bae" (talk) and "Lea" (move), so in retrospect, any "bae" (talk) and "lea" must be done in a communal spirit of one people and place. So "bae ofu" (talk together) and "lea ofu" (move togther). This is the only way to reach and fulfill our common destiney as Baelelea people.
In doing that we can all raise our hands and show our efforts that we are worth of raising a common profile and prospect for the our people and place almost lost in time. In prospect, the development (improvement) of Baelelea is about the development of Malaita and Solomon Islands. We must start where we belong and move towards where and what we want to be belong.

The work of BIF initiative is threefold:
- simply to establish networking with all fellow Baelelean and friends of Baelelea-Solomon islands, from all workd os live (i.e. academics, students, development professionals, business person, goverment leaders, church leaders, or even grassroot). The purpose to find where we are and what can contribute towards our people and community development and at the same time establish links with genuine stakeholders and partners
- The next things is for us to share ideas and see what we have and have we dont have that should contribute to development of Baelelea and solomon Islands. The "bae ofu" aspect our our indentity and culture.
- The final strategy is the "lea ofu" or collective action/movement towards common goals and purpose. Baelelea, just as Solomon Islands, needs the 'bae ofu and lea ofu" strategy, because unlike our countries we are people so closely connected through social relations and family ties, that made what wea are: So Baelelea and Solomon Islands needs "lea ofua" as much as "bae ofua".
